As we continued our drive through the neighborhood, we made a brief stop at a view spot where we could see the contrasts between the favela and the luxury condos down below. The bustling street scenes were very interesting indeed, and I took lots of pictures while our driver "covered my back". Gail was not happy.

Hi Mark….there's something I find intriguing about these favela pictures that I can’t put my finger on….but part of it is the social contrast you captured in the photos. Thanks so much Ron. I'm making up for the shortage of cash during the film days which severely cramped my shutter finger! Seriously, it's really a joy for me to post these since I'm reliving the trip every day. I'm working on a Vietnam set now from 2007 which will take weeks to process and post but I love selecting them.
