->> Due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, our call centers in New York are working at reduced capacity, response rates and hold times may be longer than normal. The New York Service center is closed to repairs and status checks. Nikon Professional Services has also been affected so loaner processing is currently on hold. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you and we appreciate your patience as we get back up and running.
We'd like to wish all of those who have been affected by hurricane Sandy the best as they recover from this devastating storm.
Nikon repair center is located on Long Island. They got hit pretty bad with power outages and it's almost impossible to get gas so employees can get to work. Mabey the service center doesn't even have power.
Went to the Long Island Nikon repair center web site this AM and they had a Face Book link that said their power is back on. They indicated they would be back in operation on Monday, Nov 5. I was checking since I have a lens there for repair. Hope all their workforce came through the hurricane without too much hardship.
My new D600 is there for sensor spot repair. Great!

Would you please send me a link to the site? Thanks, Don.
http://www.nikoninstruments.com/Took a little time to find it again. There is a notice listed that they have electric power again and will be up and running on Monday. Also look for the Face Book link for more info. Good luck. I have family in the area and they are still without power. They also say it was the worst hurricane they experienced.
Update on the Nikon service center. They are up and running. I just got my Nikor lens back today. Even with the hurricane it took only three weeks for the turn around. They replace the SWM, cleaned, and check it over. Now it works like new. All this was done under the 5 year service at no cost.
