Our Merlin Falcons are still hanging around! I have never seen the nest or the little one's but figured they have to have a nest around here somewhere since they have been hanging around the house since April! They like to hang out in the pine tree in my back yard, took these from my deck. Plus since they have been hanging around, we noticed we have not had any song birds around at all..and I miss them.
Here is the link to the original post of them.

Great set of images!!! Cindy
Excellent, Cindy. I imagine the songbirds do leave the area when the predators are around.
Great shots, Cindy...they are a beautiful, uncommon falcon!!
Merlin's are beautiful, but you will no longer have any songbirds after these guys have been in the neighborhood. When they have cleaned out all of your small birds, they are out of food, and move on to better hunting grounds and start that process all over again. We had a pair move into our neighborhood to nest. They typically have 6 - 12 young, so a lot of hungry mouths to feed. It took many years to re-establish our former set of beautiful small birds again.
