I have two old Oly Stylus 410 (vintage 2000) digital cameras that were rescued from a dumpster and given to me. I would like to give them to Scouts in my troop to use to document various activities such as summer camps or Eagle rank projects. I bought new batteries for the cameras and they are working great. The problem is, after delving into the instruction manual, it appears that I need a copy of Oly Camedia (or Camedia Master?) software to download pictures to my computer for viewing and printing. The current Camedia Master software available from OM doesn't indicate it is compatible with the old
410. The instructions for the camera mention compatibility with Windows 2000/ME. Does anybody know if or where I can get the needed software that would be compatible with Win 10?
Are you sure you really need the Olympus software? Did you try just connecting the camera and accessing the card as a disk drive?
Of course. It didn't even show up as a drive in the files listing.
If computer doesn’t see device as an unrecognized device perhaps its a camera setting. I know old Canon models had setting for PTP mode for computer communication.
I just looked at the PDF manual. It states that the Camedia software can be used to view images downloaded to the computer (not that it is needed to download images).
What about a card reader.
Didn't see this in the downloaded instructions. The instructions do indicate that to download from the camera to utilize the Camedia software. I may have an old copy downloaded on one of my archive hard drives, but I doubt it will run on a Windows computer since it was for a DOS 286 computer.
I have Olympus Master CD and Olympus Master 2 CD
PM me if you want either one.
