Quite a catch both the fish and the photo.

The best camera is the one you have with you. How many times has that been said on this forum?

I don't own an Iphone or any other Apple product.

I avoid that time-worn cliche by taking my camera with me.

Haven't you noticed that all of the pics you have posted recently to the Main Discussion group have been moved by the Administrator to the Photo Gallery.

The reason is that the Photo Gallery is where they should have been posted. Although this one could be posted to the Smartphone picture gallery.

Just a heads up.

That fish looks pretty proud of catching a human that big.

Why an iphone ??? Most androids have better camera lenses if you must use a phone to take a photo.

Personally, I was using Motorola products until a few years ago. I use a program that nails exposure and processing that runs only on an iPhone. Thus, the switch for me.

I don't think that the fact that an iPhone was used to take the photo is the real point. The point is that if you have a phone, you have a camera with you to capture moments you'd miss if you didn't take a "real" camera with you.

It is always better to carry a cell phone regardless of what other camera you use. Great shot of a happy angler

I agree. Better to have a smartphone than no camera at all.
My point was that android smarts (eg Kyocera, Google, Motorola etc) have generally better quality than apples. And more apps (exception is face). Quality of hardware also seems to be better than apple. Not sure why because all of them are made in Asia. Although "assembled" means something and keeps some of the profits here in the U.S.
When I do not wish to carry my heavy D500 with a 300 mm zoom (also heavy), I have a shirtpocket Leica with a normal zoom that is far superior quality than an iPhone with a non-zoom lens half the size of a pea.
As most everyone on this site probably knows, it is not the megapixels that count, but the quality of the glass. My DSLR with the lens the size of a tomato has about 25 pix unpushed, most smartphones are less than half of that pix with a pea lens. Technologically, it is fairly simple.
The politics of apple is another matter, but I will refrain from that.
Thanks for listening. This site has been very informational for me.
