Interesting. But I used to do it with pencils especially made for coloring portraits. Still have them around somewhere. The sepia toned pictures worked much better that the black and white.

As most members know . I use PS and sometimes a couple other programs to do my colorings . But I watched the video just because I was interested to see it done with a different adobe program that I have never used . The method he used , I have used a few times on certain areas . Tommy

That's interesting GHS58, I'd be interested in seeing some of your work. I find Elements a good way of passing time and learning new things is always welcome.

Thanks for viewing the video and your comments. Obviously it was a very condensed and abbreviated demo. Mainly to show the process. I should have carried it a bit further, showing how to 'clean up' the facial hair, etc. It's certainly a learning process isn't it? I've dabbled with many areas of Photography for well over 75 years... since I was around 13-14 yrs. old and have learned one thing, and that is that I still have much to learn:O) I appreciate your comments.

Papa Joe

Sorry, I don't have any left. All disappeared due to several moves. I was only doing it as a hobby. The local photographer was furnishing me old photos to use. I do remember the most difficult one that I did. It was a 11x17" of a soldier in uniform with numerous metals on his chest. Put a lot of time in on that one.

Forgot to mention that my first and only enlarger, I made it from wood. Dovetailed the stand so the light box would slide up and down. Used an old bellows from a discarded camera and used the lens from my Argus C3 (which I still have). Was slow and a little awkward to use, but it worked.

You did great, making your own Enlarger! Very creative. I remember my very first one... it was a 'TestRite'. Not fancy but I sure was tickled to have it! I think I was 16 or 17 years old then, and I wasn't careful about reading the Ad... it came with no lens! Eventually bought the lens but always figured I got bamboozled on that deal:o)
Been through 5 or 6 Enlargers over the years since then. Pushing 88 now but still enjoying the hobby. Computers sure made it even more enjoyable. Thanks for the reply.
Hang in there,
God Bless,
Papa Joe
