The Bible is a collection of fairy tales and this is no exception. According to the Bible, it took them 40 years to travel 250 miles. The average human being could crawl faster than that.
Just keep believing this nonsense, many do, but I'll never understand why.

I feel you frank.

You're a fairy tale and no one believes you either!

I'm sorry Frank, but modern archeological surveys are finding that many of these things happened. The plagues, for example, are described by the Ipuwer Papyrus. We know that in ancient times, the Black Sea had a major flood. Contemporary in time with the Bible, the myth of Troy was found to be true.

Please understand that I am not criticizing your beliefs; perhaps these findings don't satisfy you. I'm a Christian and a believer, so I freely admit, I'm prejudiced.

I have never doubted that The Bible is a history book, parts of which are outright true, parts of which are embellishments, and parts of which are metaphoric. I believe the "serving God" is actually just a way of serving others in our society in a kind and generous manner. The hardest thing for me to understand is why such an all-powerful entity that created everything in the universe needs humans to thank him for things that go well for them, and just accept that it is His way when things go wrong. He should know that he created imperfect creatures, and he should not expect us to be perfect. As I said, the striving to be "good" is a good thing for humanity.

God trolled Abraham into almost killing his son. What a donuthole.

Highway 61 Revisited - Bob Dylan

Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be putting me on"
God say, "No". Abe say, "What?"
God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"

Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killing done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61".

And why... in God's name!... would He ask this to be done?

Somehow I just can't get it out of my head that some of the things Man is supposed to do for God is very much like what Patriots are expected to do for Trump.

The first four commandments are the '5th Ave narcissist commands'.

The Golden Bad Hombre-on-wheels sorta pokes command no.2 in the eye.

Here is the thin we have to prove ourselves to get a job to be on a team date someone so the one and only true God as I see it has the nerve to do the same. God want obedience and loyalty it was a test. But Abraham showed faith that God would not let him do it

But our goodness cannot measure up to God’s
That’s where Jesus comes in

Dylan's religious life has been varied ... Jew, evangelical Christian, finally ultra-orthodox denomination of Judaism, the Lubavitcher Hasidim.

Way more spiritual than you and your run of the MAGArally Trump-Fundi-mentals.

Tom Waits - Georgia Lee

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLLsuoNPkl4

Cold was the night and hard was the ground
They found her in a small grove of trees
And lonesome was the place where Georgia was found
She's too young to be out on the street
Why wasn't God watching?
Why wasn't God listening?
Why wasn't God there
For Georgia Lee?
