Second Thoughts

Looking back, I am not sure I should have done this.

I am getting older, but I still like Micky D's. I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order.

And to be honest, I was being at least a little slow and the line had been quite long. But she was being quite impatient.

So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. As we pulled up towards the second window, the cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness.

I waved back and smiled at her and mouthed No Worries!

When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the line and start all over again.

Don't blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time.

I gave her lunch bag to a homeless couple across the street.

Biden tells a similar 'my old Dad' story but 'old Dad' drives off without the orders.

Wonderful way to handle an ass-hole. Best idea of this day! Thanx for sharing. You deserve a break today!

Your interaction with the public prompted me to relate this incident which happened to me yesterday.

While driving this weekend and passing through an upscale part of town, I stopped at a traffic light and was confronted with a lady carrying a sign and mouthing pleas to me in broken English. The sign read, 'I just came to America and I need money for food and rent for my parents.'

I rolled down my window and asked her, how did you get here?
"I need money".
Yes, but how did you get to America? Do you know there are a lot of jobs available to get money?
"I don't speak English".

The light turned green and I drove off. This seemed different from the regular panhandlers at intersections. I do not doubt that she was a foreigner in need of money.

True story. Happened with my wife in the car. She wanted to ask if they were documented but I didn't use those words.

Your stories get more and more obvious. Keep it simple, maybe someone will believe you.

I am not concerned what you think. I could have taken a picture but that would be unseemly.

Funny how all these loudmouths spit out hate everyday on social media. I'm pretty sure face to face they wouldn't have so much to say. Unfortunately. I love teaching.
