I'd laugh, but it would not surprise me if they really did ask...and also want to know if it is regular or premium fuel...lol.

Premium or regular? I don't know.....
I didn't take any real vacations for the past two years because of COVID and this year it is gas prices that'll keep me close to home.
I recently sold a 10 year old car to a Ford dealer. While haggling over the phone I told him that it had a full tank of gas. "Sold!" He said.
Probably true. May have doubled the value if full. Put over $200 in my two cars last week. The sad part is we didn't go out of the area. $50 for 12 1/2 gallons.

... and if you have more than 1/2 a tank you need guards around it
Just filled my car with ~11 gals, $75.00
Years ago (50+) they had a guy that would go down a used car row (don't remember the name) that ran from one of the bridges from Manhattan in Queens and checked the prices. After doing that he put out the BLUE BOOK. In time the dealers in the row in Queens, that were using his Blue Book to price. They were running in circle.

Back in 1988, I purchased a Yugo (one of those little cars from Zastava, Yugoslavia). Now the country has a new name, the car factory does not exist and the car was probably long ago forgotten. Anyway, people used to rib me and tell me I could double the value of the car by filling the gas tank (I recall it only held about 12 gallons.) today the value would probably quintuple (that's five times) in value. I still liked that little car. My Harley-Davidson has a larger engine displacement than that Yugo had.

add to that the forest fires that was eating up California and Arizona so I too stayed home as well, but I have reservations to go camping at the Rolfe C Hoyer campground just outside of Greer AZ and nothing is going to stop me this time.
