viewfinder P900

The viewfinder on my P900 suddenly went blank. Took it to a local camera shop, they fiddled with it and got it to work momentarily. The guy said he had no idea what he did, and all I had left was a big paper weight. I can take shots using the rear screen, but dificult due to my age and mild shaking. Any ideas on what might have caused it?

So, after it worked "momentarily," did he fiddle some more or just hand it back to you? Does the P900 have a toggle button that, as you keep pushing it, goes from LCD to viewfinder to both, etc? Double-check in case it's something that simple.

Handed it back. Clicked one shot and it went black again. Clerk didn't know what he did and just shrugged.

Hey, Jim, try the Reset All setting from your camera from the Menu Set Up choices.

Right. The P500 has that button.
