First, "you" don't agree and that is your prerogative. There likely are other options. This is one, not the. This option doesn't abuse honest, decent citizens or the Constitution. So if would be nice if "you" just go away. We know you disagree. We know all about your opinions. We don't need them again.
A safe and secure school must begin with securing the school. Doors and windows, other than the main entry doors, should not open at all or only open from the inside by crash bar or other emergency activation device and should emit a LOUD alarm when opened.
All visitors must be registered upon entry and present a valid ID. You know, the thing you should be required to show to vote.
All visitors will be issued a pass to wear visibly on their shirt/jacket.
Entry beyond the reception point will be through electronically controlled and locked doors.
Any school employee who chooses to do so, "you" should reread and note 'chooses to do so', may obtain a CHL and if they score above 95% on the shooting proficiency test they may carry concealed, on their person only, while at work.
Any adult visiting the school who has the same level CHL may also carry when they are at the school.
That will put them equivalent to any police officers who may eventually arrive long after the danger presents itself. Annual repeat qualification would be required to maintain at school carry status, both for employees and adults not employed by the school.
Classrooms will be hardened with solid doors securable from the inside.
As most things are, this would be an evolving system but this would be a strong start and make major improvements in school safety and security.
Now that "you" have read it please refrain from commenting foolishness that has nothing to do with it.

Sounds good but unfortunately expensive. There has to be trained security people and metal detectors (THAT ARE USED, NOT JUST DISPLAYED).
The kids have to be very much involved and they have to somehow be convinced to tell those in charge about other kids and adults with a problem.

The expense to secure the entry and doors etc. is going to be the same regardless. The "trained security people" are a major expense. That may be needed, especially at some schools, but the volunteers I described can and will do a very good job and there is zero cost involved.

You cannot depend on volunteer for a critical mission.
You need dedicated, well trained, well vetted employees.

You don't give people enough credit. The teachers who voluntarily choose to participate are there before students arrive until after students leave. As volunteers, they will be well trained by their own choice. Presumably they have been well vetted before being hired to teach in the school. They have definitely been well vetted by the local and FBI background checks required to obtain their CHL. And they are as dedicated as anyone.
I know "you" guys just have to look for anything to criticize and any reason to say this won't work. Sorry, "you" guys are wrong. This is a STRONG base to build on and it will, and in some places already does, work.

Well, you either create a secure environment or you don't. More gun laws will do absolutely nothing but that is the solution on the left because the left cares absolutely nothing about lives and only about control.

So, only the right cares about children being shot dead?

Not exclusively, no. But apparently more so as they at least promote solutions. This is one. And it doesn't infringe on honest citizens or the Constitution. The things the left is more interested in doing than saving lives.
