Greece Is Open For Travel (pt. 8) - Syros
Syros is a Greek island in the Cyclades chain of islands in the Aegean. Its main town and capital is Ermoupoli (Hermoupolis), the town of Hermes. During the 19th century, it was a significant port town. Ermoupoli, like many Greek settlements, is built on a natural amphitheater, appearing staggered from the shoreline to the upper buildings and churches. An early work by the artist known as El Greco ("The Greek"), The Dormition of the Virgin is displayed in the church of the same name. His signature (Domḗnikos Theotokópoulos) was discovered on the base of the painting in 1983.

Beautiful. Those people look like tourists. I'm sure the Greeks appreciate people coming back to visit and helping their economy.

They are indeed, tourists. Many of them in the group I was in. Tourism and shipping are the main businesses in Greece. Asked how much he misses having Americans around, Managing Director Markos Chaidemenos told NBC News, smiling: “You have no idea.”
I really liked your island living picture. Very nice.
Good images and thanks for the tour Fred.
