When I lived in Conrad many moons ago, I never thought of it as a beautiful area with only a few exceptions. You have managed to do a wonderful job capturing those exceptions. Your pictures are beautiful.
And as for your bird pictures, it doesn't matter if you were on a boat or an ancient granite rock, your photos of the birds on Lake Francis are wonderful.
Keep up the great art, I do enjoy the memories your pictures of the Flathead Valley and the Eastern Plains bring back to me.

But the scenery makes the trip worth it. Plus there is an island in the middle of the lake that has 1000's of birds during spring time for nesting. Seagulls, Snow Geese, Canada Geese, Great Blue Heron's, Coots, Mallards, Double Crested Cormorants and some that I can't identify. There usually are Grizzly bears that come down from the Rocky Mtn front to feed on that island...we usually see them but were a little early and the bears were not there yet.

Let me think...being on a small island with a Grizzly sounds quite interesting. I love your photos and wish you had seen a bear or two.

Thanks! So glad to bring back some good memories for you! I didn't get a chance to go to Rock City this trip....hopefully next time I can get up there at sunset...that's got to be amazing...have you ever been there?
