Water is the most essential element of
life, because without
water, you can't make
coffee.

Way back when they just chewed the beans or ground them into powder, formed them into little paddies and cooked them on rocks by the fire.

And later on, they figured out that patties worked better than paddies and they were off to the races!!

auto spell check strikes again - I should have used "cakes" - What could it have turned that into??? Oh, "lakes" then we would back to using water to make coffee.

Not to put too fine a point on the subject but, fire was not discovered. Like light, it has always been there (in human existence) in one form or another. We simply started to understand some of its attributes and assigned it a name. Same for air, rain, clouds, gravity, wind, rocks, moon, etc.

Ah, but it was discovered - in the sense of its use. --- "to find out, see, or learn of especially for the first time"

Maybe, out of fear of the fire, they threw water on the "paddies", then tasted the run off. Ergo, instant addiction.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the first name for fire was something like, "EEEYYYYYYOOOOOWWWWW!!!!"

Without water, there would be no beer or Bourbon. Add your favorite liquid. Even milk. Cows get thirsty too.

One serious caveat about water. One can drown in just four inches of water. People have died over the ages.

And without Oxygen ( and Hydrogen), one cannot drink the coffee. (Oxygen and two parts of Hydrogen are required for water. The spark is at no additional charge.)(Plus the extra Oxygen for breathing!)
