I just found a few aphids on a tomato plant.

The second image is, I think, of a Moss seedhead which has released all its spores. Please correct me if I am wrong or add some more information perhaps.

Indeed! Welcome back! A good set.
I don't know what those mossy things are. Spores released from the capsule of the sporophyte just float off in the breeze. Maybe a parasitic fungus got into the moss?

Brenda, welcome back, and once again, a very nice series. I find aphids to be quite interesting with their relationships with ants so thanks for sharing your find.

Thanks Gary, I am hoping to see more insects after a long winter of finding very little.

Brenda I really love your photos especially the aphid. They are starting to come around in my California garden as well.

Great to see you back again. I have missed seeing your photos and your narrative. I was even going to fly to England to look you up and ask where the heck have you been. Glad your interest is revived. I hope to se more of your very fine work.

Dennis
