The wrong camera hurts more than a lack of effort.

Can an average point and click photographer make an epic shot? Absolutly! Can a good photographer make a bad shot? Absolutly! So, does luck play into either option? That is sort of like saying "what a wonderful picture, you ust have areally good camera"

Huh?

It isn’t trial and error. It’s trial and success. The more you shoot the better you get.

Life is too short to use the wrong brand of camera.

Many people love to say, "lucky shot" upon seeing a photo they like. Is a great photo always one derived purely from luck. Or is there a great photographer responsible for that exposure? Your comments please . . .

The more you shoot the more you learn the more lucky shoots you make.

Good luck (for me) was two tornadoes in 10 years going across my same neighbor’s place both times. For him it was bad luck. Me having insurance to cover my damage wasn’t luck, it was good planning.

Luck, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Being prepared isn’t luck, it’s good planning. And then there bad luck with a positive outcome. On one tornado, one neighbor died when a tree came through the roof, crushing him and killing him instantly as he set in his recliner watching tv. The positive outcome of that? Earlier that day he was told that he had pancreatic cancer and could expect a slow painful death. The bad outcome? His wife (my brother’s ex-mother in law) had her head in the fridge looking for something to eat (a common occurrence) and the fridge kept her from being crushed as well. If my brother would of had his druthers...
