I too live next door to a very small town where everybody knows everyone else's business......it's a college town (Slipery Rock, Pa.) that has more than it's share of drug issues and overdoses. It is also a solid Democratic town. Using your logic I guess that means where I come from the most of the druggies are democrats - of course I already knew that but was too polite to say it aloud until you went first.
Then again, Grove City college (one of four top ranked schools for economics in the US) is seven miles in the other direction and they have no drug problem at all (one infraction and the student would be gone!). Of course GC college is conservative, religious and very Republican so once again your logic cannot be applied to this particular case.
By the way. Grove City College does NOT get one red penny in Federal or foreign money. Thirty years ago the Fed's (not liking an educational facility that was out of their control) tried to close the school because some of the student's had government loans. Within four days the alumni donated 4 million dollars to fund the students that needed financial assistance and they told the Feds to go pound sand. To this day not one single student has failed to repay their loan nor has the college looked to the tax payer to fund their projects.
To address your comment about my saying ALL people entering the country over our southern border are criminals. Read it again......I said or inferred "some" people, not all.
AS for my "snide" explanation of how the local farmers have developed a fair, just, and legal program for migrant workers to support their families, live a decent live, earn their own keep and find a way to citizenship if they so desire......I'm sorry that I rumpled your feathers. It might be a partial solution but it's a proven answer to the problem at our southern border. If you're not interested in answers and suggestions - so be it.
