I think my Sony TV is possessed. Yesterday morning at 5AM the TV turned on and sounded an alarm. The wife was not happy that she was awaken and had to figure how to turn off the alarm. We have never used the TV as a alarm clock and did not know that was a feature of the TV.

Today, while watching the News, a commercial for Google came on, you know the one where the man is cooking dinner and he says " Hey Google, unlock the front door"

Well, the TV heard to Hey Google and set the alarm again. This time we saw a message on the TV and we were able to turn off the alarm and turn off the mic in the TV.

All these modern conveyances will drive us crazy. It's not easy getting Old.

She's not in my house. Just noticed she's in my car and I try not to hit her button.

I'm happy to hear that someone else's TV has dementia. I thought mine was the only one. I have a 7 yr. old Samsung smart TV, and a few weeks ago I turned it off with the remote provided by Verizon, went to bed and was reading for about 15 minutes, when I hear the TV go on. I KNEW I'd shut it off as I'd watched it fade to black. I don't have Alexa or any other electronics that are "smart" other than the TV.

Mine neither, nor the other one. I couldn't believe it when someone said she knows more about than I do. Unlike the Mrs., she's listening all the time.

Just bought a sound bar for my new Sampson tv. Now when I walk by the tv, the sound bar announces it is turning on or off. Hey!!! the tv isn't even on. What really gets me is when it goes off as I make my way to the bathroom at 3:30 am while in the total dark room.

I have a Sony TV and I think it can read my mind. I was walking through the living room a few weeks ago and was thinking to myself, "I'm going to get a cup of coffee and come back here and turn the TV on and watch the news or something". After getting the coffee and returning to the to the living room I found the TV was already on. Spooky.
Wasn't the first time I walked into the room and found the TV on.

I have a Vizieo TV that had an on/off problem a couple years ago. I would turn it off, and a couple minutes later it would turn itself back on. With just a few days left in the warranty, I called the company and they sent a repair tech out. The TV needed a new main board - the tech ordered the part and a few days later replaced it. Fixed the problem, although the TV still is a bit touchy with on/off, but at least it doesn't turn itself on any more.

Your cell phone listens to everything also. Talk about something strange you never talk about. Such as raccoon removal or something. The ads on your phone will mimic what you talked about very soon

Regardless of who it was, someone taught you to drive a car. If you left it in neutral and didn’t set the parking brake, your car might not be in the same place when you got back. Did any one teach you to operate the TV or did you just plug it in and push a button? Instruction manuals are our friends. And so are our grandchildren. :-)
