What do you all think of Inpixio software? ($49/yr) I have Darktable...but honestly, navigation is difficult for me...think I would need some help there.
I've used photoshop some but I'm really a newbie when it comes to this.
Advice?

Yes. Go with Photoshop Elements. Pay for it once only, and it's not difficult to navigate through.

I use lightroom classic and it meets my needs 95+% of the time (photoshop for the >95%). But that doesn't provide you with information on the options, there are many others. You might consider the following or others like it (google Photo editing software) to get a synopsis of the options, pros and cons and pricees to see what may best meet your needs. Another option is to use the software supplied by the maker of your camera which is generally free (e.g. Nikon's NX Studio) reasonably capable and may just meet your needs.

I suggest Photoshop Elements as well. When you find yourself at a point where a voice says, "not bad but I'd like to be able to........," then try something else like Luminar 4, Affinity, ON1 Photo Raw, etc. All offer free trials.

Or spend $10 more and purchase Affinity Photo. All yours, no extra fees. And update are free.

Have a look at and a think about Affinity- does what Photoshop does but without your needing to be a PhD to get to grips. It's a professional app developed by Serif professionals for the likes of you and me - photographers not computer geeks. Loads of Utube support and loads of how to vids on the built-in help.

Stevey, consider that whichever application you choose, it comes with a free learning curve. If you want to overwhelm yourself, try learning all of that curve at once.

It's far better to decide on one and stick to learning a little bit at a time. Master each step before moving to the next. It may sound rudimentary but you'll master whichever you choose.

Photoshop is best. Take the time to learn it. Practice experiment and then practice a lot more

I would suggest ON1 2022.
W h y :
1) Very close the PSE 2022 in cost
2) 14 day free trail
3) lot's of training video's
4) One time cost
5) Expandable features
5) Presets to make your editing simpler.
6) AI.... this is BIG ... AI is now in PP, Noise reduction, Resize. Yes you can over ride AI or just reduce the % level.
7) One of the Best No Noise on the market
8) Coming this month is an update for "Resizing" maybe the industries leader
9) Yes, you will have to setup a screen/s at the start.
However, done only once and a video to help you make the right decisions
10) Allow me to list how simple ON1 is to edit;
A] Insert your camera card into your PC and open ON1
B] Select the image you want to edit
C] Click on Edit tab
D] Click on AI
E] Click on Export tab
F] Name the finished edit
G] Done { that took about 45 seconds at the most }

Absolutely, you can do more, a lots more. That is where the training videos come into play. On1 does not only help you learn post processing but they also provide features you can use for taking photographs.

On1 2022 is state of the art with opportunities to expand but rest assured, you would never ever need to update or expand to the latest version. Or heaven forbid, buy another PP editing program and have to go through a learn curve, Again.
I have PSE15, Canon's free DPP4. ON1 is just as simple and faster

There’s always Luminar. Check it out on you tube. Learning curve less steep 😄

Try ELements, and it you find after learning how to use it that you need more juice, add Elements + . Pay once and you are done.

I've used Eements for over 10 years. It has satisfied all my image processing needs, including transplanting my wife from the Atlantic Coast to Hawaii (shortly after we visited Hawaii), and changing her blouse color, and applying "makeup" to her face.

My advice is that you first determine what it is you want in a software package, then determine what price you can afford to get that package. Additionally, all of our brains work a bit differently and finding a software package that works with both your needs and the way your brain works is important. No one else can tell you what software will work for you as their brain and their software needs may be different from yours. All of the existing software package are good at a basic level, but some do one thing or another better than the other package.

I use Adobe products, Lightroom 90% of the time first, then Photoshop for various reasons. The cost is, for me, very low and I don't have to worry about paying for upgrades when they come out. Most companies will let you download software and use it free for a short period of time, you might try this with those companies. There are so many software packages that I'm sure you can find one to suit you if you give it some thought and planning.
