There are no batteries. So, the cable release weight is offset by that.

Havent you ever compared them to an equivalent SLR ? I found my Toyo Field was a breeze compared to a Graflex. Altho the latter is an amazing beast, it was just heavy and awkward.
The Toyo can easily be used handheld. I had a Baby Deardorf for a while as well. It seemed to be made of helium ... but then acoarst it needed a tripod :-(
If cut film were still a viable medium Id do a Go Fund Me to build a few OIS lenses for it !
