Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson because the first African-American woman to be confirmed to the Supreme Court
45 out of 47 GOP members of the Senate couldn't leave the Senate Chamber fast enough as the Democrats and Mitt Romney erupted in a well deserved round of standing ovation applause upon the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson as the next Justice to sit on the United States Supreme Court.
The other two embarrassed themselves by not dressing in suits, and were forced to cast their votes from the cloak room!
What were they thinking?
It WASN'T casual Friday!
Congratulations to the new jurist-a well qualified, hardworking, intelligent judge.
Boo to the sad Republicans who refuse to accept her qualifications, and diversity; and instead have lost all integrity, to protect their appearance.

Excellent news for pedophiles everywhere.
Another Affirmative Action pick by Biden.
Let's see. How many democrats voted for Kavanaugh.

After Kavanuagh played the victim, and cried and blubbered like a child during his confirmation hearings?
Big difference between him and Judge Jackson.

They screwed up so bad they need the black vote for the mid terms. A hollow gesture

Until Justice Breyer"s retires there are currently no openings on the Supreme Court to allow Jackson a seat.
The question would be: Since a justice is nominated by the president to fill a vacancy, what happens if Biden is removed or dies before Breyer's retires? Does his nomination and confirmaton still stand? Could Harris then void the confirmation and nominate someone else? How long can Jackson be a justice in waiting?

Good question. As I recall in my poly sci classes, Justice Jackson's status doesn't change even if Biden is no longer in office. The Senate has already confirmed her, and there's no mechanism in place to "reverse" that. She takes two oaths of office. First she takes the traditional oath administered to any Federal officer. Secondly, she has to take an additional "justice" oath administered by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Secondly, it's highly unlikely that Harris would dare to attempt any such action. Harris herself has ridden the Affirmative Action horse to her position. She's as hypocritical as they come, but that would take some cajones.

Was it a hollow gesture when every Republican couldn't get out of the chamber as soon as the vote was over except for Mitt Romney?
That childish move on their part will hurt any of them who're running for reelection this year.
Clips of their rushed exit from the Senate Chamber will be used in opposition campaign ads across the country!
Or how about the visuals of Lindsay Graham and Rand Paul voting from the Cloak Room.
