We had lunch in the small town of Vik then started our journey back to Reykjavik. The first four pics in this series were shot out of a moving car through the window with a high ISO to compensate for the increased shutter speed. A word about the horse. We got off of the bus for about 10 minutes to take pictures of the horse (I am sure that some wanted selfies with the horse) and this couple would not step away from the horse. They were petting it, hugging it, and feeding it. People were standing around trying to get a good pic of it and these people wouldn't move. Somebody should have given them a good kick in the rear! There was a second horse, but this was a much nicer looking horse. Well, there is my rant for the day! I tried my best to crop them out if the pic. The 8th and 9th pics are of Drekkengorhylus which means drowning pools. Here, mostly in the 16th to early in the 18th century, women convicted of adultery, incest, or infanticide were executed by being tied in a sack and drowned in the pool. History records that at least 18 women met their demise here in this manner.
This is a mountain hillside with a fog that is lifting. Some of these hillsides have that golden glow.

We started our bus tour with a visit to Fridheimar, which is a collection of greenhouses that grow a large percentage of the tomatoes for the island. The ends of the tomato plants are stretched toward the ceiling of the greenhouses periodically.

Exterior view of one of the greenhouses at Fridheimar. You could eat lunch and have a beverage here. Most everything on the menu included tomatoes. We had tomato soup that was delicious and I chose to have a tomato beer that was also pretty good.

Gullfoss - one of the nicer waterfalls in Iceland, but sad to say my pictures do not reflect that very well. It was cold, very windy, rain with some snowflakes, foggy, and I did not have a lens hood to keep the moisture off of the lens.

Icelandic horse. I understand that Iceland does not allow horses or sheep to be imported to the island. They want their animals 100% Icelandic breeds.

Another picture of Gullfoss and the valley below the falls. The path to the lower right was closed because of the inclement weather.

Nice.
The Mid-Atlantic Ridge comes up on land in Iceland and is viewable, in the ninth shot in this set.

Thank you for the info, Longshadow. I knew that there was something significant about this image but wasn't sure what it was.
All are super, but the last one of the falls makes me want to go there! Well done. Thanks for posting.
