So what. Eventually...it will be true.

I am just bumping a lame thread back to the top.

It's hard to be more lame than your comment on this proclamation but Joe Biden is not only lame, he's dangerous. He, John Kerry and Al Gore before him, preach climate change with no real solutions to offer.

Electricity has, continues to be, and will go on to transform life in the world. But electricity comes from somewhere. Large scale plants produce electricity from steam power, rotating a turbine. The steam is created from heat. Heat comes from fire. The fire comes from oil, gas, coal, and nuclear. There is no free lunch.

All Green energy advocates have come up with is the use of solar or wind which may work in Martha's Vineyard but are not viable on a national scale and nuclear is off the table.

The total electricity Requirement for the United States in 2020 was 4,000 billion kilowatt hours. That's 4,000,000,000,000,000 watt-hours. A requirement means it’s not optional. It would take 930,000+ wind turbines in the US. Is there land in the US with steady wind to support that number of turbines at 1.2 acres per unit? No. They are also noisy and kill birds. And it would take 3.6 billion solar panels. Where will we put them? What would our country look like? Goodbye open spaces.

Of course fossil fuels are a declining resource as are the materials to make wind and solar. But we probably have at least 100 years to go before fossil fuels are finally depleted. We should spend that time that fossil fuels will give us to develop new technologies to efficiently replace them. But it is not an instant fix. It takes time. In the mean time, it should be apparent that the cost of wind and solar are not economically feasible and may never become economically feasible at any time in the future.

Joe Biden's premature attempt at transformation from fossil fuels to wind and solar sources will stand as the single most costly and ill-advised attempt at governance in this century.

Biden is not attempting to transform our world from fossil to renewables.

He lacks capacity to make that happen.

Market forces will eventually make it happen, but it will be many years.

You guys whining and screaming about being forced to buy EVs and about Biden closing down our oil and gas industry are just hilarious! We still manufacture tons of ICE cars, and the energy business is rocking and rolling just fine.

We are pumping more oil and gas than we ever have. Not just my company, but the industry as a whole. America is a net exporter again (what you guys sophomorically call energy independence.)

What's the problem? The price of oil and therefore gasoline is up? Biden does not set oil prices and at most has a very minor impact on global oil prices based upon what he has said and done here.

He is kinda like you...he is just an ankle biter to our energy industry...all yap and not much impact. Like you on here.

So Biden running his mouth about moving away from fossil fuels is not a big deal. Its just his dream.

What wind farm are you referring to that allocates 1.2 acres per windmill? I see them so close together that it is a wonder their tips don't collide.

Windmills are larger than they appear and 1.2 acres is smaller than you think. 1.2 acres is a square that is about 230 feet per side.

I did find it hilarious when Kerry lamented the war in Ukraine because of its impact on climate change.

Sad, but hilarious.

The point is that unlike your's a president's words matter. Promising to end fossil fuels during his tenure as he said is a big deal in terms of a disaster to our country if attempted.

Green New Deal? Look up "New Green Deal" yourself. How did you mess up something that simple?

While all windmills aren't equal I realize they are huge. It turns out an acre is only 208 feet by 208 feet. Somehow that surprised me.
