There are two approaches to solar imaging. 1) Ha Solar requiring a dedicated Ha Solar scope, 2) A regular camera lens or telescope with a White Light filter; Baader Solar Film and Orion's Glass Filters work nicely. I also have a Herschel Wedge White Light filter which is the best available but also a fair chunk of cash; it will work with any refractor scope.
Have fun!

With the telescopes at the colleges I taught at, we used a DIY solar filter made from mylar silver sheet. I now have a sheet on order that meets the ISO standard. I'll make a filter for my camera lenses. I'm looking forward to some experimentation. --Richard
