Wonderful. Like millions of that generation, they all did their jobs. And the world has been eternally graitfull.

It wasn't until after he passed away that I found out that my uncle parachuted into France behind enemy lines in preparation for D-Day. Some months later he had the honor of celebrating Christmas with General Anthony McAuliffe in 1944. Since then, I think of him every June 6th and every Christmas.

I think any of the people who participated in that operation should be considered heroes.

Why on earth is an article on Don Knotts in "The Attic"?
Who had their feelings hurt by him?

This is where I troll so I posted here. I post sometime to stir the pot to seek knowledge through others.
I post humor because a lot of times we have our underwear in a wad and just general information.
Since a lot of us grew up watching the Andy Griffith show I thought it would be interesting to share.
Break up the monotony…

Ok I get it.
My wife and I watch The Andy Griffith Show almost every evening, it never gets old.

As we grew up we walked among heroes. I knew that one of my uncles was a radioman on a B-17, but it wasn't until he died, as well, that I learned that he'd flown 33 missions. Another uncle fought in the Philippines but never spoke of it. He did, though, give me a Japanese bayonet. So many of the male teachers that I had were veterans. My homeroom teacher was a combat veteran of Korea but we didn't even know.

My father served in WWII as well he was a musician and a Sea Bee.
But I had the pleasure of meeting the gentleman who was responsible for developing the navigation system for the US Navy. Up until which they were using the celestial navigation. His name is Tom Cataldo. I interviewed him
