Amazon is hawking K&F Concepts filters. Anybody use these? Or have an opinion? One they advertise is a combo polarizer and ND and then they add the descriptor "no cross." A first in the industry? Or just something this old guy hasn't heard of.

I actually have the combo and I like it. The biggest issue is not knowing how many stops it is as you rotate it. It hasn’t been a problem on my Z7 because as long as the exposure is 30 sec or less I can see the exposure.

According to K&F, the filters can get the X pattern. https://www.kentfaith.com/faq_3927

Not the five stops one that constitute the combo VND/CPL which are the ones the OP is talking about ,and the combo VND/CPL ones I have used extensively, and the combo VND/CPL ones K&F correctly state have no X pattern . No X pattern at all in the combo VND/CPL ones they make, even at the max settings.

If you had USED the actual product mentioned before you dissed it, you would have made a more accurate comment.

Your link is it to the Nine stops VND-only ones that turned past max on the scale can give a X pattern. These are not the combo VND/CPL ones being talked about.

I have just one K&F Concept filter. It is a variable neutral density filter that I bought after a lot of research and reading reviews. You have to be careful because they have older and newer versions, but after a lot of research I decided to try one of the newer variable neutral density filters and I am very happy with it. Like I said, I have only the one and can't speak to the rest of them. I bought it because people seemed happy with it and it was much cheaper than more well known names.

Lighten up! OP asked what the X spot issue was even about. Bob's response did help explain that portion of the question.
