I believe Kavanaugh's reaction to the questions showed him to not have the proper temperament. Whether any of the charges were valid, I have no idea. The evidence seems pretty good that he was a partier, and he liked to drink. I don't find either disqualifying, but his reaction was unseemly. Tit for tat doesn't help you to appear to be an adult.
I think you need to re-examine the timeline for the Kavanaugh hearings. They were almost complete and then the false claims came out and his vote was delayed because of the "seriousness" of the charges. At this point there's no doubt in anyone's mind that the "victims" were perjuring themselves. To his credit Kavanaugh didn't really get testy until his final comments. I think his attitude in those comments helped his vote. He was righteously indignant.
It's has been a common, revisionist tack to claim that, guilty or not, Kavanaugh did not display the proper temperament for the job. Let's see you get up in front of the entire world and have people lie under oath about your behavior with your wife and children looking on. There's a special place in hell reserved for Christine Blasey Ford.
