Canon just released another firmware update for the R5 & R6. The R5 version is 1.5.2.
Some updates concerning extenders as well as the autofocus.
I just updated my R5 a few days ago. No parts fell off. No smoke. No flames. Everything looks good.

I just did the 1.5.2. I don’t know why, but every time I do an update it changes my settings…. I waited and did not do 1.5 or 1.5.1 with all the problems, but many said 1.5.2 was good so I went for it! Now to see how it does….

Definitely! Not a big fan of our winter weather though. Haven't been shooting an awful lot. Waiting for spring to kick in so that I can get back out on the river and also start shooting the games at the local community college.

Thanks for letting us know.

Firmware Version 1.5.2 incorporates the following enhancement:
1. Optimizes AutoFocus accuracy when Extender RF1.4x or Extender RF2x is attached to the RF800mm F5.6 L IS USM and RF1200mm F8 L IS USM lenses.
2. Enhances the stability of Eye Detection.
3. Enhances AutoFocus tracking when shooting moving subjects.

Gee, I think I've encountered all 3 of these issues. I think I shall update my firmware!
