DST is better because it stays light later. And that's better.
There's really no money involved in this decision, so it shouldn't receive too much resistance.
EDIT: They're calling it "The Sunshine Protection Act." I guess "The Interfering with Nature Act" didn't sound beneficial enough.

I don't like it at all. It's bull shit. They don't call it "Standard Time" for no reason. If you want to work early just change the working hours. Don't mess up with the time.
This was done before during the oil crisis in the 70s, and the result was that children were waiting for school buses in total darkness on rural roads. It's easy to say that school could start later. In some cases, parents would have to start work later. I spent my whole childhood and adolescence in a state that didn't have daylight savings time until later. It didn't seem to bother anyone.

As the article states, the bill would allow AZ and HI to stay on standard time. We don't observe savings time in AZ because we don't need more sunshine.

When told the reason for Daylight Savings Time, the old wise man said, "Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket."

Yeah, AZ has plenty of sunshine already. A friend of mine in Glendale tells me "But it's
dry sunshine".
Actually, the way people live in AZ.... up and out really early before it gets too hot.... finish that round of golf before Noon or your brain will fry... they probably would be better off going to permanent Daylight Savings Time.

they could go out at 4:00AM. I used to work from 6:00AM to 2:00PM. Nothing wrong with that. The hour is determined by where you are around the earth. Don't mess with it.

And now many schools in my area start an hour, or more earlier than they did in my day
With all that is going on in the world, Russia, China, Iran’s Nuclear Program Advances, The Taliban Return to Power in Afghanistan, BLM will be burning our cities again this summer, Russian missile strikes in Ukraine, fentanyl from china coming in our southern border with the 1000s of illegals and what is the "House" of Representatives worried about "spring ahead and fall back" with our clocks, Oh well its good to see where their priorities are many will be replaced this fall. and not soon enough for me.
