That's a lovely image. Did you get permission to take the picture? I don't know what the protocol is there - if permission is required or not.

That's nice! I've never seen them three abreast in harness before. That must be a harder pull than it looks!

I have actually seen them 5 or 6 abreast.

Good question; as I understand the Amish belief on photographing them, if you can not identify their face it is OK to take the picture. This is the guide line I follow.

Actually he is cutting wheat and putting it in windrows so that can put it shocks. Then they will thrash it later. KNice picture.

Actually he is using a machine called a ‘binder’ which gathers the grain into a bundle wrapped by twine which can then be stacked into shocks, however if dry enough the bundles can be taken straight to the threshing machine without the extra work of shocking. A windrow is a continuous row created by a side rake and this process is never done with grain because most of the kernels would fall off.

That’s a very well taken image even though the farmer is clearly identifiable upon enlargement.

That looks like it might have been taken along route 772. Nice image.

It might have been, I'm lazy about recording the location. Someday I will do it right.
