I looked at the items for sale to stop the lens for moving when the camera was pointing doown. To my surprise my grandson said Grandpa why don't you try my school logo wrist band. The band happened to be black and had white Bobcat paw prints on it and looked good and worked even better than the reviews I read about bands for lens slipage. It was a simple fix for the cost of $0.50. I couldn't take his so I had him pick another one up at school, way to go Maxwell.
Great idea! Beats the rubber band I have been using.
I need to get my paws on one!

If you're shooting a wedding, a lady's garter might be appropriate. :D
This would work if you had a chicken leg bride, otherwise the lens would still be slipping.

that is a creative idea. I shoot film and have a 3x teleconverter which has a mounting plate which is a little worn, get some wiggle with the telephoto lens. Think I try this.
Would a wrist band like tennis players use work?

Depending on the size of the zoom lens or mulitplier, I've use a "LIVESTRONG" wrist band, but on some lenses, it may have to be installed from the camera body end of the lens and be placed so it goes over the rotating and fixed portion interface of the lens. On some lenses, it requires a touch of silicone grease to assist in focal plane changes. After Lance's downfall, there may be other wrist bands that might not be as objectionable though. It works for me.
I think they are to sweat off the hands so I am not sure

Interesting thought, but only one in black for Nikkor.
A white garter belt on a white L-series Canon lens might look OK however.
Oh how we have fun with others equipment & a Grandchild comes up with a simple idea that works very well, as I refer to my own Grandchild.
Sorry but I try not to poke fun at what the other persons choice might be to take a photo.
