I went to a catholic high school, my parents choice. They weren't religious but felt I would get a better education.

My very first high school class was religion. The Marist brother walked into the classroom in his black robe waving a bible over his head. Getting to the middle of the room he stopped, faced the class and said, "This is the bible ... bunch of bull shit". He believed that there were good lessons to be learned in the bible, but we shouldn't take the stories literally.

I think he had the right idea.
