I usually choose B&W over color and I am choosing the B&W. The color version has very little color and the color that is there does not add to the photo. Nice photo!

Both are good and each has different good points.
What do the "judges" in your club tend to go for? If your main goal is to "win" go with what they trend toward. If your goal is to present what you consider to be your best effort submit the one you prefer whichever one it is.
I tend to prefer color in almost all cases because unless I am in very dim light that is the way I see the world.
In this case, I prefer the B&W version. Just seems to 'jump out' at me more. Jerry
Color for me, by quite a margin.
Black and white is my choice. Color adds very little to the story being told. It's a really nice photograph, either way.

I also say color as did several but they did not say why. The BW has no easily read story whereas the color photo has the desktop, shirt cuffs, and shirt collar all tied together by the color blue.
In a like manner, the lower-left corner, the envelope center bottom, and his hands and face are linked with shades of tan brown. The dark brown of the drawer, the light, and his forehead are likewise linked.
Often neglected is the titling of a photo for submission... The title should tell the judges what the Gidget is; one high impact defining word would do.
The B&W photo has no linking or central focus of story... man diligently at work fixing a widget.

Color. But I would remove the plastic coffee cup on the left of the photo.

Love the B&W, centers your eye. Great shot!
Black and white, without a doubt.
Both are fantastic, but the color just "pops" for me.
They're both very good, though I do prefer the color.
