The Florida legislature and senate have passed a bill to ban abortions after 15 weeks. This is a draconian law whose only purpose is to oppress women and make them less equal than men. Unfortunately, this not only effects women who live in Florida but women in surrounding states that used to have to travel to Florida for an abortion.
DeathSantis has stated he intends to sign the bill.
Unfortunately, his mother didn't get an abortion before his birth.

A long time ago when my now fifty year old daughter was thirteen, she was raped and a month later she told us one night at supper that she was pregnant. I told her, "We are getting and abortion." I have never seen her as mad as she got during our 'discussion'. Long story short she did not get an abortion. She did what she planned to do and put the little girl up for adoption. She has one picture of her on her first birthday. A twin of her when she was one.

Or about 24 weeks. As a result of medical progress that time has been substantially reduced, to about 18-20 weeks. My opinion is 15 weeks is a little too soon. But I am quibbling. My opnion is that abortion is a state issue, not a federal issue (10 ammendment) in the first place. And BTW late term abortion is murder

Abortions once were touted as something that should be legal but safe and rare. Since then it is something that has become more of a "blood sport" in practice. Like marijuana that was pushed into legality by the term "Medicinal", it too has morphed and transitioned into the "Recreational" realm.

Other laws now on the books or being proposed would prohibit teachers from having any discussion about sexuality (the "Don't say gay" bill) and would even require teachers or school staff to notify parents if a student is perhaps gay.
And of course, DeathSantis claims all of this is for "parent's rights" - such as the "parent's rights" to decide if their kids should wear masks, but this week he bullied teenagers for wearing masks indoors in Tampa (where there is still a high spread of COVID and where the CDC recommends wearing face masks indoors). So obviously HIS opinion is far more important than any parent's opinion! Think "BIG government"! And his a**wipe surgeon general, who has been given TWO full-time jobs by the State of Florida to come and parrot Desantis' anti-mask rhetoric, continues to claim incorrectly that there is no evidence that masks help. And for all those who think Dr Fauci gets paid too much - our moron surgeon general gets paid even more than Dr. Fauci!
