A few from last night semi-final. Shot with Nikon Z6, 24-200 Z lens, SS about 400, f4.5-7.1, ISO on auto, floated as high as 8000. Ran these thru Topaz DeNoise, but great lighting already in a college arena. I was sitting on end line, corner of the court.

Note highly recruited football QB Arch Manning playing with Manning Family in the house!

Hi Moke:
You didn't ask for comments but I will anyway so don't take this the wrong way.
For basketball you must shoot at least 1/800 for girls and 1/1000 for the guys. A 2.8 lens is a must for the extra light.

Thanks and I agree about the shutter speed. But two things, one I shoot with what I have (don’t own any 2.8’s yet in mirrorless)and two, the Cajundome is a professional sports arena with TV lighting. I only let the ISO float so high because I was using a variable length lens that forced me up to 7.1 f stop. Thanks for the feedback though!

Jules, reviewing closer, and magnifying to 100%, I do have motion blur on some shots. Funny though, on the first shot, it is a case of missed focus point. The shoe of referee behind is perfectly sharp and the player behind the action.

The Z6 is different from a DSLR AF system and is taking some practice. I was using Dynamic Area, but may have to go single point. Finals tomorrow and another chance! I may try my shorter Z 24-70 f4 constant aperture.

Sounds good Mike. Good luck tomorrow and remember to shoot as tight as you can. I know with the new camera it's going to be an adjustment period. Hell after 50 years of shooting I am still adjusting and learning new techniques. I am old fashion I shoot with one of those Nikon D500 and D4. lol..
