Recently arrived in the Delray area of Southeast Florida. I am looking for good spots to take pictures. The area's that I focus on are: Landscapes, Architecture, Street Scenes, Animals (Horses, birds etc), Seaside (Ocean views with landscapes and lighthouses). I have already taken pictures of South Beach (Architecture and Street Scenes), Mizner Park (Architecture) and Green Cay and the wetland at (starts with a W that I can't spell it is on Jog Road above Lake Ida in Delray). If possible please provide as much detail in location as possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The Wakodahatchee Wetlands facebook page is very good. Shows a lot of good work. And yes, I am also featured there.

Interesting architecture (as well as landscape) SE Florida has a number of light houses both on land and in the water....All the way to Key West & beyond. Everglade tours, KIssimmee Prarie State Park (West of Juno) is an excellent are for astronomy if you are interested (one of few "dark sky" areas in Florida) About 2 hours north of Juno is Kennedy Space Center (all sorts of interesting architecture) In addiiton it sits on the Merritt Island Natl Preserve one of the largest widlife sites in Florida....Cocoa Beach due south of it has its "Exploration Tower" another top architecture spot as well as the adjoining Port Canaveral

Coral Gables and Coconut Grove are quite picturesque, and the skyscrapers on the way there on Brickell are breathtaking...
Key Biscayne...the views from the Causeways between the Bea
ch and mainland. Our skylines!
I think I live in one of the most diversified most beautiful cities in the World!
You will love it

For a different perspective you can take an enjoyable trip on the Intracoastal in the Miss Delray. It boards on Atlantic Avenue. In the park on the North side of Atlantic.
Lots of mansions & pretty drawbridges on AiA along the coast. Go North and South.
I believe there are 2 Loxahatchee locations. The National Park is the Northern one. (South of Boynton Beach Blvd on 441. Further South is the Loxahatchee Preserve(?) which has lots of gators and airboat rides.
An overnight stay on the West Coast in Naples area is nice. Visit Naples Pier at sunset and watch the sun set into the Gulf. Might see some dolphins, too.
Up North is Jupiter Lighthouse (it’s a little boring to me as it’s painted all brick red,) Also there’s Blowing Rocks along A1A. Must go near high tide to appreciate it. And, have a nice Pina Colada on the waterway at Guana Bana. One of my favorite restaurants.

A nice trip to the everglades is a great spot for photography. Just take Alligator Alley to Shark Valley which is a state park. You will see all kinds of birds and a lot of alligators.

A trip to Palm Beach is good for some street photography. The Society of the Four Arts and Mounts Botanical Gardens (both in PB) have some interesting displays. Morikami Gardens on Jog Road, south of Linton, is beautiful.

The Boynton Beach inlet (A1A north of Ocean Reef Park, and beach) is great for capturing fishing boats, some guys fishing, and assorted types of people hanging out down there. Parking is free….but best to get there early. I stop there and take pictures of the cyclists flying down A1A in the morning sometimes.

Walk around Delray downtown and areas around Palm Trail (access from George Bush Blvd. and St. Vincent Ferrar Church. There is a small marina on corner. Some really interesting architecture and such a blend of Old Florida and new very modern structures that are replacing them.

There is always the Avenue at night for great neon light shots and interesting street photography, too.

I too am visiting in South FL and was just in Shark Valley. Great opportunities to photograph a large variety of birds and alligators. Plus a nice place for a bike ride. Bring your own or rent one right there.

Hello, I am from Fort Lauderdale, and know some pretty good photo locations.
Here is a brief list.
1. take a water taxi on the intercoastal waterway, the homes on the left as you sail north
are fantastic, the hotels & condos on the right are also fantastic shots.
I assume that you may want to start at the Pier 66 hotel or somewhere close. ( get a taxi map)
2. Stop at some of the "taxi stops" and roam around to capture some more shots with a tripod.
3. All along A1A, there are many restaurants that offer outstanding views of the ocean at sunset or "rise".
Also, there are many restaurants that offer outstanding views of the Intercoasted waterway from
there outside dining areas. Looking west for sunsets.
4. Take a cruise on the Jungle Queen for trips up the "New River" which goes directly thur downtown
Ft. Laud. and continues all the way to a few hundred yards pass I-95, located west of downtown.
5. If you are into clouds, Ft. Laud. is your heaven. Walk up some of the bridges crossing the Intercoastal
and safely take some photos of the sunset and cloud interaction. The colors are outstanding.
6. Take a party bike (six or 8 person bike with a tour guide) thru Las Olas Boulevard area. "Watch your
camera gear".
7. I recommend checking out some books at you book store. Foders, Frommers, or Lonely Planet.
8. Good luck and watch for 2 thinks, Power Lines that can ruin a good photo, or Iquanas that may fall
out a tree and at least give an ellavated heart pulse.
9. One good spot is the Aruba Beach Cafe located in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. There is a pier there
can offer some great shots of the "high rises" along the coast in both directions.
10 Be safe, watch your suroundings, have a great time.
