If people are throwing out fish to get a closer shot I wish you had disclosed it. This does not diminish the your good technical skills but it does change the ‘naturalness’ of the images in my opinion.
Actually I found out from a good source how the fish end up on the ice. There is fish kill in the winter time, especially as it starts to freeze over. Fish die from lowered oxygen levels and eventually float to the top. Once an ice layer forms these fish get caught in the thickening ice. It can get up to 8-12 inches thick. As the ice starts to melt these fish end up on top of the ice as the layer they were trapped in melts. So there you have it officially.
