Bought out by Volvo in 1981.
Loved the trucks, cars not so much. Great job.

Prior to Volvo buying the White Truck Corporation, White had merged with Freightliner until late 70's. Those trucks were called White Freightliners.
Loved the Good Humor truck.
I lived in a quiet, somewhat rural area and we could hear the Good Humor bells far enough away that we had plenty of time to get to the road to flag him down. Then there was the gut-wrenching decision on which one to buy. I was a fan of the toasted almond bar but it was more expensive...at 15 cents...than the common varieties at only a dime.
Your ‘70s cars remind me of a new car purchase back then. I was a broke young married teacher with a kid and needed a new car. My choices came down to a Gremlin and a Maverick. I decided on the Gremlin. When I told my dad, he asked me why. I told him that it was $200 cheaper than the Maverick--a lot of money to me at the time. Without saying a word, he reached into his pocket and wrote me a check for 200 dollars. Message received, I bought the Maverick, which turned out to be a really good car. A fellow teacher bought the same Gremlin a week later, and it turned out to be a terrible piece of junk--repair after repair. That exchange reminded me of the tv show “Father Knows Best.”
KT, thanks for the ride along memory lane, a truly wonderful collection of photos! Cars, and a few trucks, motorcycles and boats have been the main subjects in my photo collection.
