Fantastic set Jim. I can’t believe the last one is exactly the same scene as our painting which was done 20 years ago and the skeletons of the vehicles have not changed!

Many thanks, Mark...I was surprised when when your scene popped up...uncanny! Anyhow, they are ageing well in spite of the harsh conditions that Bodie is known for!!

Very nice set Jim! I love the overall warmth of the scene, see some nice wood textures and the inclusion of these rusty vehicles fit the general color tones perfectly - love it!

No more gold to mine. In 1880 Bodie had a population of 10,000 and by 1942 the last Bodie residents left the town.

Over the years 1860-1941 Bodie's mines produced gold and silver valued at an estimated US$34 million ($85 million in 2021).

As we hadn't been here in 13 years, I spent a lot of time photographing most of the town. In this series my intention is to show more images from the back streets and less common scenes.

These are wonderful! Thanks for sharing.

I can't thank you enough for the use of your photos in my paintings. These just make my mind whirl. I'm counting down the day til June when I'm visiting there myself. I never see old places like this without thinking about the story behind the scene. There was a lot going on at this location at one time. Oh, to have the access to a time machine!
