This morning at our window this one wanted in. There seems to be two of them, one with this orange spot. Looks like they are 3" long at most. Can you help?

It's a Redpoll. Redpolls are small finches within the Fringillidae family
Since I can't seem to spell "maybe" the redpoll is also a real possibility. Just now my wife brought up a 3rd bird guide and it looks like the redpoll. They migrate to the Carolinas in Winter from as far away as Alaska.
looks like ruby crowned kinglet.
Definitely a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Redpolls have dark streaking on the flanks

Yup. I concede. It's definitely a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
Compare the beaks on the kinglet and the redpoll. the bird in this photo has a short beak, whereas the kinglet has a longer pointy beak. Whatever it is, it's nice to have a photo of a pretty visitor to your yard.

Thanks for everyone's input; nice conversation! Judging from my birdbook it looks more like the ruby crowned kinglet.
It’s definitely a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet. Greenish gray color. The Redpolls have red color on chest.
Apparently the photo didn’t go with my previous post.
