Wonderful set, KT! In the middle of my high school time. Just as beautiful as I remember.
I'm still impressed. Another great set.

Most of my life since I was maybe, 13, I always wanted a sectioned 49 or 50 Mercury. I would look over the shoulders of guys with Hot Rod and Rod and Custom magazines hidden in their Algebra text books. I had a 49 Mercury once. A guy I knew gave it to me as he went to Vietnam. I got a number of cars that would be classics now. My daddy didn't want me collect junk. I had to kiss that 55 Chevy 2 door hardtop with every option goodbye and the 57 Studebaker Golden Hawk supercharged. Do I wish I had them back? Damn right. Could I afford it? Hell no. Time defeats us in some way.

I really wished they still made these cars just like they did then. I would buy one in a minute. Thanks for the post. BE SAFE!!

The BOC's were Mushmobiles with SlipOmatic Transmissions but we loved them. GM's powerful straight 8 engines... long hoods. Yes, the 50 Merc was for sure an evil-looking bubble butt. Chevrolet, I said never change the oil, the straight 6 leaked so much you just added... they kept the dust down on dirt roads.
Chevrolet, yuck so down-to-earth conventional... The car forecasted the boy's future into manhood and girls did not want Chevrolet guys, but their mothers said they should. In Grand Blanc / Flint my HiSchool buddies went to work for GM at 18 and retired later after years of faithful boring punch press duties replaced by automated robots that were not members of the Union.
