Looking through a few old photos I saw this photo taken on vacation a few years ago and tried to identify it with a bird book but could not find a close match. Kind of a Warbler look but face markings and beak is different. Photo was taken in New Hampshire. Thank you.

Honestly it looks like it's some kind of Sapsucker but not from N. America. I think it's a bird that has lost its way or any escapee of some sort. I checked my N America books a couple of times and it's not in there.

Very uncommonly Varied Thrushes can have the typical orange replaced by white. This one looks immature also. New Hampshire would be uncommon for them, but they have been recorded there.

Thank you all for your responses. Checked on Google and confirms the little bird is the Red Breasted Nuthatch. Between non-breading and year-round they cover about all the US and a large portion of Canada.

This is the closest image of an immature Varied Thrush I can find that approximates the originally posted image.
The second is of an immature Red-breasted Nuthatch.

These images were made near Seattle, WA last Summer.

Hope this helps.
