Mandate approved for federal employees. No Mandate for private companies. Just announced. Since federal employees serve in the executive branch the President can mandate vaccines for those employees. But NOT for private company emp[loyees. <Makes sense.

There's a celebration in my work place right now and people are smiling. We're about 95% republican here and while most of us are vaccinated, nobody want's our company to be able to hold vaccine status over our head using the OSHA rule as an excuse. Our company is so strapped for people to work that they've pretty much said, if you don't have a fever, we don't care what your covid test says, get your ass in here and help us out. That was a change made yesterday.

If I'm not mistaken, they upheld the mandate requiring vaccination for healthcare workers at facilities receiving federal funding, not all federal employees.
Seems to be a consistent application of who has authority over whom.

That is what I understood too.

I can agree with that ruling.

Yep, the way I understand it, if your company has Government contracts- it may fall under the mandate.

No, it only applies to healthcare workers.
The mandate reads: "In order to receive Medicare and Medicaid funding, participating facilities must ensure that their staff—unless exempt for medical or religious reasons—are vaccinated against COVID–19."
You can read the Supreme Court case and decision here:
https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/21a240_d18e.pdfNote that the mandate as written does not appear to require boosters.

I don’t think other federal worker or federal contract were even in case were they? Isn’t that a separate law suit?

You're correct.
The mandate was issued by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and only applied to healthcare facilities.
