Did you catch this statistic: "However, based on the data presented, unvaccinated individuals appear to be six times more likely to be hospitalized and nearly 13 times more likely to be sent to ICU than those who are fully vaccinated."

Because there is a new variant of the virus (spread most effectively by the profoundly ignorant unvaccinated immoral imbeciles) that is more contagious and the vaccine no longer offers as much protection against this variant as it did previously. The efficacy of the vaccine against this new variant can be increased by getting a booster.
