Been on a waterfall kick lately.
So, for the last year or so I have been seeking out and shooting a lot of waterfalls. Before heading to a workshop on the Oregon Coast I stopped and spent a couple of days going up and down both sides of the Columbia River Gorge. I stopped at Multnomah Falls (along with a couple hundred other folks!) and was expecting to be aggravated because of all of the people. However, I was able to find a nice little spot on the main viewing platform and started taking some shots. I've seen so many shots of this waterfall and was telling myself to be prepared for people to be standing on the bridge that separates the two levels of the falls because that is what I've seen in other shots. Well, the bridge was off limits due to some repairs being done. So I was happy to not have people on the bridge in my shots, but the sacrifice is that you can see what looks almost like black plastic bags hanging over the bridge rail. I assume this has something to do with the repairs.
The other waterfall I really was looking forward to was Panther Creek Falls and it did not disappoint. This falls sits down maybe 80 feet down in a gorge on the Washington side and the wall the water falls over is just so green and lush, it looks like something out of a fairy tale.
The final shot is from this week and is from Letchworth State Park in western New York. I stopped there after dropping my son back off at college and got lucky with a pretty dramatic sky. Can't wait to try this again next fall with all the foliage.

There are many time people add wonderful interest and scale which they would in this sort of a situation.

Stunning! Some things we never get tired of seeing.
Great set. Was there a few years ago when there was less water falling. Love the colors. Mahalo for sharing.

Thanks for the view and the comment. I agree that people in a shot can be a nice addition, but I have just always preferred shots without. Especially if it is a location I have always wanted to get, I will wait until the shot is empty because if not, I know that whenever I look at my shot, I will immediately go right to the person instead of the scene I was there to get.
There's always something new to see in the US - and these are great.
Curious if you tried acfaster shutter speed to freeze water, especially in number two.
Great series.
I was trying to hit the sweet spot between stopped water and too milky and was happy with this. I think it shows the power of the water without looking too silky smooth.
