Hi Friends, Been on UHH for about over a year, now and have learned much about digital photography. Was a film addict and guy with Canons and Nikons, B&W Darkrooms and stuff, before. I do miss the smells of a film camera and a home darkroom, however.

Now with getting older, did not want to lug a huge film SLR (my Canons and Nikons), with their lenses, so got a Sony 8.1 MP, 15X, DSC-H9 Bridge camera several years back. Wonderful camera and I will still use it from time to time.

Reviews and whatnots put me in the mood for a Nikon P-510, with the super zoom and I got one. Then with all of my fellow UHH writers, I then opted to go much lighter and with more portability than either of my Sony or Nikon Bridge cameras have, but with most of the features. Good grief, here I went again and spending more moneys on myself!

After sifting through the reviews of most compact cameras, I finally got a Panasonic DMC SZ7, with 14 mp and a 10X Leica zoom and wonderfull, pocketable capabilities! It was around $115 at Amazon. Bought a belt-loop case at WalMart for $5 and I am ready to start shooting! The reason I wanted the tiny camera is that I often ride my Vespa 200 cc scooter to work and around many beautiful areas and wanted to have something I could pull out, have at my side, and rather than hang around my neck. Too, it will do good at parks with rides and other stuff that DSLR's and Bridge cameras hanging around one's neck have no place going!

Gosh, just the right camera at the right time, for the right price, for the right experiences!

Updates from all my cameras coming, I promise!

Sarge, and others, puhleese keep up the jokes!!!

Gary

Remember, the Best Camera is the one you use the most!

Thanks, Gary

No, the best camera is the one you have with you when the photo opportunity arises.

No.
The best camera is the one that can take the shot you want to take.

Wow! the new cameras are comeing out quicker then we can keep up with them. Just today I saw on the nikon web site they have a camera that can take photos and then project then on the wall right from the camera. What will they think of next?

Another maker (Sony?) introduced one like a few years ago, but it doesn't seem to have caught on.

EDIT Well, I found it, and it looks like the Nikon was the first camera to do this - in 2009.
