The "protected opinion" refers strictly to the line “Missing Context. Independent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people.”. It does NOT refer to the actual fact-check article citing the problems with Stossel's original article.

Let's explain the concept of "missing context": It is an indisputable fact that I have a better NBA free-throw percentage the LeBron James, because LeBron misses about 1 in every 4 free throws, while I have made every single free-throw I have made in an NBA game. The missing context here is that I have never attempted a free throw in an NBA game, but zero-for-zero is still a perfect record.
