Point Pleasant is a resort town on one side of town and a serious commercial fishing port on the other side. I just got my Rolleiflex back from some professional attention. Since the photo Center is close to Point Pleasant, I decided to load a roll of Illford and go for a walk along the commercial docks. Here are a few photos chosen to give you a feel for the town. All comments welcome.

no 1. Rope to test the sharpness of the lens

no 2. Party boats are big fishing boats that will take 20-30 clients on a trip. The ticket stand usually advertises the species that are targeted by that boat.

no. 3 Working boats are definitely not yachts.

Very nice!!! The rope shot is my favorite. Ilford film and paper is really something. When I first started developing and printing my own stuff I tried to go Kodak everything because I thought there wasn't anything better. Then I was introduced to Ilford and was blown out of the water.
Nicely done, Erich!!

That rope shot was tricky. I did not have any light because it was so dark and dreary today. So, I had to shoot wide open (f/3.5). That did not give me much leeway in terms of dof. I used the magnifier with the waist level finder on the camera. I'm pleased that I got the focus right on that one. Thanks for taking a look and I loved your comments.

The first photo with the ropes is outstanding, and i am also drawn to the last one. Its lines intrigue me.
When people in NJ think of Point Pleasant they would not associate your shots with that shore town. Very nice series of the “other” side of the Point. I really like your first and third shots.
Haven’t done any in a while but I like ropes, rusty anchors, oars, dingies etc.. I’ve gotta get out more!
Nice set!

I agree with your assessment of the rope. I like that one too. There was also something about that mailbox with the steps that made me take the photo. Thanks for your comments.

You are right, most folks would think about rides and the boardwalk. I like that aspect also; but today it was all about fishing boats, and their part of town.

I was not getting out much either for a while. Then I decided I was going to just get out and do it.

I was considering loading a roll of Ektar; but decided that , where I was going to shoot, would work well in Black and White. Thanks.

I found shot #2 humorous. The line out the window down is set out to catch Santa?

That is great. I never thought of it that way.
