Nine Mile Canyon is famous among rock art enthusiasts. The canyon in close to 50 miles long. It's south east of Salt Lake City but still a good bit of distance from Moab. The people who lived there and produced the rock art were the Fremont, not the Anasazi who lived further south around the Moab area. The Fremont rock art is significantly different from the Anasazi people's with a few similarities. Notably absent is Kokopelli the flute player which is virtually everywhere in the Anasazi rock art.
