I have had my eos r for a couple of years and have used all of my ef lens. wanted to try an rf and looked into the 50mm. A new f1.2 sells for $2000 and the 1.8 sells for $199 new. Checked ebay and found one for $150. The lens was almost new; with box and paper work.
Have tested it for a few days, and i must say it is a great lens. I had to update my firmware for it to work. It will be a great walk around lens; it is small and light weight.

I have the little RF f1.8 Nifty Fifty and enjoy its fast aperture and tiny size. Pictures are plenty sharp. Good value in my opinion.

The nifty 50 is a great lens. For me, the ideal walk around lens. I also have the 50 1.2, which I typically use when I want to shoot between f/1.2 and 2.8 (usually portrait or other shots where bokeh is important to me). For anything slower than f/2.8 the nifty 50 works just fine.

The resurgence of the basic 50 is a great thing. Give folks a “new” perspective. And acoarst low light shooting is a bonus.

I’ve got several of the the old late ‘80s style EOS 50s. They just accumulate !

I see the letters "acoarst" used a lot here.
As far as I can tell it is a meaningless jumble of letters.
I did Google this but it is not a word.

Is acoarst some odd and obscure photographic term?

Yes it is. Photographers like to confuse you ordinary types!

In ordinary (non photographic) speech, you may know it as "of course". In French it
would be "d'accord" iirc. Harry

OK, like por supuesto.
But it is a way they can pretend they know something.

I tried to look it up as well and find nothing that makes sense. There seemed to be some use of the "term" for some musical instrument amplifier. Nothing for photography. A secret UHH term. Some of us must not have been told the handshake.

I might be more forgiving of what ever ACOSART is if it had some special meaning to me like
